How to wear black
Black is one of those colors that never seems to go out style, and this season is no exception. Layering black upon black although fashionable, is not as easy as it sounds. There are a few pointers you can follow to help you pull off this look.
1) Not All Blacks Are Created Equal
This is key, blacks can come with different hues, so although in that closet it looks black, when your out in daylight, it might have a different look to it. It's important to check your black out in daylight, and make sure whatever black you choose, these hues go together.
2) The Best Black
The best material to give you that rich dark black that will stay black, has to be wool. Wool tends to hold dye better, so your black will last longer. When picking those suits, and trousers, go for wool, it will last the longest. On the other hand, cotton tends to fade fastest, so if you choose a cotton piece of clothing, see if it can have some sort of synthetic material in it, like lycra, this will help hold the dye longer.
3) How to Keep Your Blacks, Black
Most of fading can be avoided if you just wash your blacks correctly. The best thing to do is dry clean your blacks, since a cleaner will know how to wash your fabrics, but if your washing at home make sure to separate those blacks from other colors, and wash in cold water. It's a good idea to turn your black clothes inside out, to avoid fade from friction in the washing machine, and make sure to use a detergent that is designed for colored clothing. Cheer Dark and Zero by Woolite, are specifically designed for washing black clothing and helping avoid fade. If your washing a black item of clothing for the first time, try soaking it with some vinegar or salt water, which helps to seal the color.
4) How to Pull Off The Black On Black Look
Aside from taking proper care of your clothing, and making sure your hues of black match, the key to pull off this look is to mix the fabrics and textures you're wearing. Pair a black wool textured sweater with a smooth polyester-silk pant and vice versa. Mixing patterns is also a good move, try wearing a solid black pant with a black striped shirt-it adds a little something to your look, and keeps you from looking like the man in black!

Mens fall trends 2009
Continuing with our theme of fall trends, here is a quick head's up on some of the fall trends for 2009
The Colors:
Black, black and black. Just like the ladies fellows, black on black on black is really hot. Grey is of a similar popularity. You also have the basic white and blue dress shirts, but you could also mix it up with a tamed down plaid shirt to add a little spice.
Cuts:
Fitted, tailored and well put together, is a great look for this season
Textures:
It's all about textures this season-wool, tweeds and try layering
Jackets:
Stylish Leather Fatigue jackets and loose fitted trenches were popular for the season. Black of course is an obvious choice, but try a dark brown or grey for a change.
Suits:
Most were were fitted this season, no shoulder pads and say goodbye to the box shape that suits of the past have. If it looks well tailored and shows your general physique (but not a skinny suit), your good. So hit the gyms to get rid of that beer gut!
Pants:
Like the suit they are fitted and slim but not skin tight! There is a trend or styling, where pants are a little more relaxed (but we're not talking the pants low down with your butt hanging out, like the b boys of the 90's), it's just a little more relaxed fit.
