What's hot for men's hair fall 2008
For our male readers, no worries we haven't forgotten about you. Here are some of the trends we've been seeing for men's hair at the shows.
Short Hair
If you want your hair short, the look this season is to have it really short all over (think Lenny Kravitz) or short but with some texture. What does this mean? Short sides and back but a little length on the front and top. This way you can play with length and make it choppy, tousled, layered, whatever you would like to do with it.
Medium Hair
This is the one that we're seeing a lot. For medium length hair, the shaggy look is in again. Shaggy is that surfer dude look, a little unkept, but with some style to it. Shaggy is that overall messiness to your hair, that most British rock bands seem to have. The great thing with this type of hair is it can have a lot of variation:
you can either have shorter sides, with a longer top (that you can brush to the side) or
have hair overall longer and make it shaggy or fringed on the ends or
have short cropped bangs and longer shagged hair all over.
Our favorite is long all over with long bangs side swept (the length being to the shoulder and tousled). Whatever you chose, have some fringe to it, to add some extra style.
If your hair is curly, you can have the same length all over, just side part it (a preppy type look).
Long Hair
If you don't mind having long hair (goes past the ears onto the shoulder), the main way we saw this look is with the hair being straight but with some element of fringe to it (on the ends, at the bangs), there was an overall choppiness. This type of hair tended to be side parted as well, which tends to highlight the fringed shape to the hair.
Side Note:
A styling product we recommend for all you guys to give you that perfect bedhead, hold that side part, or keep your fringe in place is Bumble and Bumble's Sumotech ($23.00). It's not a wax, creme or paste, but a moulding compound that's a combination of all three!
